Swansea releases Michu from contract
Michu's time with Swansea City officially came to an end Monday.
The Premier League team announced that it "reached a financial agreement" with Michu to terminate his contract before it was due to expire at the end of the season.

The move allows Michu, 29 to find a new team and potentially resume his playing career when the January transfer window opens. He has reportedly agreed to join Spanish fourth-tier team Union Langreo.
Michu was an instant success upon his arrival at the Liberty Stadium from Rayo Vallecano for £2 million in 2012, winning the affection of Welsh supporters with his incredible scoring display and helping the club win the League Cup in his first season.
His 18 goals were fifth best in the Premier League that season, but his struggles to overcome an ankle injury during the 2013-14 campaign prevented a repeat of the previous season's triumphs as Michu was limited to just two goals in 17 appearances after undergoing surgery.
After appearing in his final match with the Swans in April 2014, Michu only managed to make five appearances during a loan spell with Napoli before being plagued by injuries.
