Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer to retire at end of season

Longtime Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer will retire after the 2015 season, the school announced Sunday.

Beamer has coached the Hokies since 1987, and met with his team and staff to inform them of his decision.
"I have always said that 'I want what is best for Virginia Tech,'" Beamer said. "Because of my love and passion for this great university, this program and our tremendous fans, I have decided after 29 years that it's time."
The decorated coach has won the Associated Press College Football Coach of the Year Award and been named ACC Coach of the Year twice in his career.
Beamer boasts a record of 234-120-2 with the Hokies and has won four ACC titles.
