Hawks to rest Kyle Korver; Thabo Sefolosha probable vs. Hornets

The Atlanta Hawks are playing it safe with sharpshooter Kyle Korver.

Korver will sit out Friday's game against the Charlotte Hornets as a precaution for his surgically repaired ankle, according to Atlanta Journal Constitutional's Chris Vivlamore.

Having played against the New York Knicks on Thursday, the Hawks apparently want to avoid playing Korver on back-to-backs this early on. Korver underwent offseason surgery on the ankle as well as on his elbow, and his health is imperative for a Hawks team that's already light on wing depth.

With Korver sidelined, the Hawks have listed swingman Thabo Sefolosha as probable after initially ruling him out. Sefolosha is recovering from an ankle injury of his own after having his tibia and ankle tendons shattered by the NYPD in April.

Korver led the league in each of the past two seasons in 3-point percentage, and averaged 11 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in Atlanta's first two games this season.
