VIDEO: Nik Stauskas pours hot sauce on basketball in Sixers' intro

One closed-captioning error has forever altered the course of Nik Stauskas' career.

The Philadelphia 76ers' second-year guard had the nickname "Sauce Castillo" fortuitously bestowed upon him during a broadcast last season, and his brand has been on an upward track ever since.

The Sacramento Kings - who Stauskas was playing for at the time - hosted "Sauce Castillo Night," in which they offered bottles of hot sauce as free fan giveaways. Stauskas later partnered with a Japanese condiment producer to create his own signature sauce.

And on Wednesday night, in the video introductions before his first game as a 76er, Stauskas was shown adding a dash of that very sauce to ... a basketball.

Because, why not?
