VIDEO: Revere destroys garbage can after 'terrible' strike call
Ben Revere let anger get the best of him.
The Toronto Blue Jays outfielder unleashed his fury on a garbage can in his team's dugout after striking out in the ninth inning of Friday's American League Championship Series.
Revere was upset with a close call from home plate umpire Jeff Nelson on the outside part of the plate that eventually set him up for the strikeout.
"It was a terrible call ... It changed the whole game," he said of the questionable call. "If he puts me in a 3-1 count, now he's got to throw me a strike. Instead, it's 2-2 and that puts me in a hole.
"That's why I was so ticked off. I can't say nothing to him, I can't get ejected. I just had to go in the dugout and take it out on a trash cash ... It was like six inches off the plate. If I swing, I can't hit it. That's why I took it."
One hitter later, Josh Donaldson would ground out to end Toronto's season.
