Speed is a difference-maker and Lorenzo Cain proved why in the eighth inning of the American League Championship Series on Friday.

After drawing a walk against Toronto Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna, Cain used his wheels to go from first to home on an Eric Hosmer single into right field.

Royals third base coach Mike Jirschele read the ball perfectly and waved Cain home as Jose Bautista opted to throw the ball toward second base to keep Hosmer to a single.

The run gave the Royals a 4-3 lead in Game 6, and it held up as the winning run that sent Kansas City to its second straight World Series.
