While Lamar Odom has shown what some have called "miraculous progress" since an apparent drug overdose left him in a coma and on life support last week, he's not out of the woods.

Odom, who was airlifted from a Las Vegas hospital to a rehab center in Los Angeles on Monday, likely still needs a kidney transplant, Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Odom has begun physical therapy, is slowly regaining his vision and speech, and has even progressed to the point of walking. But he's suffering from kidney failure, which reportedly can't be remedied with the dialysis treatment he's been receiving for 6-12 hours a day since being hospitalized.

According to Medina, Odom is expected to continue to make progress but faces potentially long-term or permanent health issues with his brain and kidney.
