Mexican forward Carlos Vela is reportedly looking to leave Spanish outfit Real Sociedad in the January transfer window, with hopes of moving to Major League Soccer, according to El Confidencial.

Vela has reportedly asked the club president Jokin Aperribay for a move away from Sociedad, the club currently managed by former Manchester United gaffer David Moyes.

"I'll be happy at Real until January. In January, I don't know what can happen," Vela said, in Spanish, admitting he did think about leaving in the summer window this year. "Whenever a market opens, things can happen."

Mexican news outlet Record reports that the Chicago Fire and the San Jose Earthquakes are interested in Vela's services. Vela would join fellow Mexican international Giovani dos Santos in the league as dos Santos currently plays for the LA Galaxy.
