DFS: Mystery Men - Week 7s Top Sleepers

Entering the middle weeks of the NFL season, teams are making adjustments on the fly. This means exploiting some low-priced options when they become available. Here are this week's bargain GPP picks:

QB Matt Cassel, Cowboys (at Giants)

Pictured: Brandon Weeden nobly passing the torch. Weeden was not good for DFS. He didn't sink the Cowboys, but he wasn't a game changer. It makes sense to make the switch to Cassel.

Cassel has largely been seen as a bust - a player who excelled in the Patriots system but couldn't break through elsewhere. These people ignore his second season in Kansas City where he threw for 3,116 yards, 27 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions. That was 2010 and he hasn't started for a full season since.

So there's risk. He could so easily face plant, but he's really inexpensive, which means you could load up everywhere else and hope he has a great game against a suspect Giants D. If it does it will make the few who take a flier on him very happy.

RB Dexter McCluster, Titans (vs. Falcons)

McCluster is an interesting option. The Titans' backfield is a mess. No one has fully established himself as the go-to back in Tennessee - probably because they don't have one.

He is a career backup, and probably won't become elite out of the blue. But he could be effective in a GPP. It's an admittedly small sample size, but he has averaged 5.2 yards per carry over 30 attempts. He's occasionally being used in the passing game - three receptions and a TD against Miami - so his value is spread out.

The Titans are treading water - and sinking - until David Cobb is eligible to debut, but McCluster might be the strongest option until that day comes.

WR Michael Floyd, Cardinals (vs. Ravens)

Floyd began the season in horrible fashion. He was only targeted twice through two weeks and then only caught one of five targets in Week 3. Since then, things have looked a bit better. He finally caught his first touchdown of the week against the Steelers.

Teammate John Brown has a firm hold of the No. 2 receiver spot in Arizona, but Floyd has FLEX potential heading into a game against Baltimore's flimsy secondary. This could be a big game for any Cardinals receiver, but Floyd is the biggest bargain.

TE Ladarius Green, Chargers (vs. Raiders)

Antonio Gates has been back two weeks and has firmly established himself as the clear No. 1 TE in San Diego. But Green has not disappeared.

Week Targets Receptions Yards TD
5 5 5 50 0
6 4 3 35 1

Is it great? No. Is it still productive? Absolutely. It isn't all that different from what he was doing prior to Gates' activation. He makes a sneaky FLEX option or a discount TE if you decide to load up at WR.
