New York Red Bulls win 2015 Supporters' Shield

The New York Red Bulls secured the 2015 Supporters' Shield after defeating the Chicago Fire 2-1 at Toyota Park.

Goals from Bradley Wright-Phillips and Sacha Kljestan proved enough for the Red Bulls to claim the shield, finishing first overall in the combined MLS table with 60 points. And, while FC Dallas defeated the San Jose Earthquakes to remain tied at 60 points, the Red Bulls' superior goal difference secured the top spot in the end.

Chicago forward Gilberto did his best to prevent the celebrations in New York, pulling one back for his team in the second half with an easy finish in the box, but it was not enough to stop the Red Bulls from charging to the top of the standings.

The Red Bulls claimed the Supporters' Shield for the second time in three years, having won it in 2013 under head coach Mike Petke.
