The energy and excitement of postseason baseball brings everyone out of the woodwork and Game 5 of the American League Division Series was no different.

Former Toronto Blue Jays MVP George Bell threw out the ceremonial first pitch Wednesday in front of a sold-out Rogers Centre crowd.

The 55-year-old Dominican fired a strike to veteran Blue Jays left-hander Mark Buehrle prior to the team's biggest and most important game of the season.

Bell spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Blue Jays before moving on to the Chicago White Sox in 1991.

The slugger won the AL MVP in 1987 after hitting .308/.352/.605 with 47 home runs, 134 RBIs, and 369 total bases.
