Eagles' Lane Johnson has MCL, ankle sprains; expected to play Sunday

Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson had an MRI on Monday that revealed MCL and ankle sprains, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

However, Johnson is expected to play Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Johnson suffered the injuries during a 23-20 loss to the Washington Redskins on Sunday, but was able to return to the field and even predicted the diagnosis after the game.

"I think I re-sprained my MCL," Johnson said. "It's one of those 'wait and see deals,' I'll have an MRI tomorrow."

It's surely a relief for the Eagles, as the former first-round pick is one of the better players on an offensive line that's struggled this season.
