The Montreal Canadiens have placed goaltender Dustin Tokarski and defenseman Mark Barberio on waivers, the team announced Monday.
Tokarski split last season between the club's American Hockey League affiliate in Hamilton and the Canadiens.
He suited up in 17 regular-season games with the big club and five playoff games following an injury to starter Carey Price.
Barberio spent last season with the Tampa Bay Lightning, tallying one goal and seven points in 52 regular-season games.
The move opens the door for Mike Condon to act as the team's backup goalie to start the season.
