DeMarco Murray says he's not getting enough touches

DeMarco Murray had his best game as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, carrying the ball eight times for 36 yards and adding 12 yards on two catches.

Of course, "best game" is a relative term. In the first three weeks of the season, Murray's single-game rushing high was a paltry 9 yards.

After Sunday's game, Murray didn't hide his feelings about whether he believes he's getting the ball enough.

"No, I'm not," Murray told reporters. "I don't think I am."

It's a chicken versus egg problem with Murray. While it's easy to say he would be more productive with more touches, it's also easy to conclude the 449 touches he handled in 2014 wore him down to the extent he's still feeling the effects.

The Eagles are clearly trying to manage Murray's carries, while also working in Ryan Mathews, but perhaps the team has yet to find the optimal balance.

Pressed for more on the issue, Murray made it clear he doesn't want to become a problem for his coaches.

"I don't need to go to anyone," he added. "It is what it is. I think we'll all watch film and get better."
