Marshawn Lynch will not play Monday vs. Lions

Steven Bisig / USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks will be without their franchise running back when they host the Detroit Lions on Monday night.

Marshawn Lynch, who is dealing with a hamstring injury that forced him from a Week 3 win over the Chicago Bears, will be spelled by undrafted rookie Thomas Rawls.

The injury was initially called nothing serious by head coach Pete Carroll, but an MRI during the week revealed a more severe injury.

In Lynch's absence, Rawls rushed for 104 yards on 16 carries.
