VIDEO: Washington State tries fake punt, ends up with worst possible scenario

This is how wrong a fake punt can go.
With Washington State up 21-13 in the third quarter against Cal, the Cougars attempted to pull off some trickery with one yard to go for the first down.
After lining up for the punt, they tried a fake, with punter Zach Charme sprinting straight into the jaws of the Golden Bears' defense.
Not only did Charme come up short, but he was mobbed by seven defenders, forcing him to the fumble the ball, and Cal safety Stefan McCLure returned it for a touchdown.
That's about how bad a poorly-executed trick play can pan out. The game is currently in the fourth quarter, where Cal leads 34-28.
