DFS: Numbers Game - A Look at the Key Stats from Week 3

Week 3 didn't disappoint in producing some great stats that stood out. Keep some of these figures in mind when setting your DFS lineups for Week 4; as they say, the numbers never lie.

0-and-3 - For the first time in team history, Baltimore has gone winless in its first three games; the Ravens were the only franchise to avoid such a start in their history.

5 RBs - Analysts were justified in believing that the Titans would lean heavily on their running game to ease rookie QB Marcus Mariota into the offense. Mariota has looked more polished than expected and the Titans have moved away from having a single lead RB. Antonio Andrews joined Bishop Sankey and Dexter McCluster as the third player in three weeks to lead Tennessee in FP from the RB position, while Terrance West and Jalston Fowler have seen snaps as well. With little stability among usage to this point, it's probably best to avoid all five in your lineups going forwards.

6 carries - Alfred Morris has earned a work-horse reputation for his ability to pound the rock but his inability to factor into the passing game meant that Morris only saw six carries all game. If Washington falls behind, Morris rides the pine.

7 receptions - Both Odell Beckham Jr. and Rueben Randle hauled in seven catches from Eli Manning in the Thursday night game. ODB came into the season penciled in near the top of the league's receiver power rankings but Randle had a nice breakout game, finishing with a DFS-relevant 116 yards receiving and a touchdown.

24.6 fantasy points - Rumors of Adrian Peterson's demise were greatly exaggerated. All-Day continued to put an ugly Week 1 in his rear-view with his best fantasy performance since December 1, 2013. That was actually only six games ago when factoring in his 2014 suspension so it seems like DFS players should expect weekly excellence from Peterson going forward.

35 touches - Devonta Freeman won't receive this kind of usage every week but 30 carries and five receptions will give ample opportunity for any player to put up some decent stats. All Freeman did against the Cowboys' defense is put up 141 yards rushing, 42 yards receiving and three TDs. That type of singular force can swing any cash or GPP lineup.

401 touchdowns - Tom Brady might be the most divisive player on the most divisive franchise of this millennium but no one will ever take away his 401 career TDs. It's a testament to the staggering longevity and elite skill he's played at since taking the reigns of the Patriots' offense. It's also a testament to his immense DFS value in 2015; the last time Brady started a season with three straight games of a QB rating over 100 was that memorable record-shattering 2007 season which accounted for 50 of those TDs.

2002 - That would be the year in which the Bears were last shut out in a football game. It was surely a game to remember for Chicago fans, watching their home team lose 15-0 to the eventual Super Bowl champion Buccaneers on the 5-for-5 field-goal night from Martin Gramatica. Those were simpler times. Henry Burris made his only NFL start before a long pro career in Canada; his primary target that afternoon, Marty Booker, would go on to make his only Pro Bowl appearance at the end of the season.

2,856 days - The amount of time between 300-yard passing performances for New Orleans QB Luke McCown. The last occasion came on December 2, 2007, when McCown (then with the Buccaneers) defeated his current team - led by then-upstart Drew Brees.
