Cooper Bateman's tenure as Alabama's starting quarterback may have lasted less than a half.

With the Crimson Tide trailing Ole Miss 17-3 with just under seven minutes to go in the second quarter, Nick Saban made a change at quarterback, bringing in Jake Coker who started the first two games of the season but was on the bench Saturday night in favor of Bateman.

Coker then led Alabama on a 16-play, 75-yard drive that included four third-down conversions. Coker capped the drive with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Richard Mullaney who sailed into the end zone.
