Colts place rookie cornerback D'Joun Smith on IR-recall

The Indianapolis Colts have elected to use their lone injured reserve/designated to return slot on cornerback D'Joun Smith.

Smith, the Colts' third-round pick, is reportedly dealing with a nagging injury.

It's a disappointing development for a team short on defensive playmakers, especially since Smith looked good early in training camp.

Smith will now be forced to miss a minimum of eight weeks before returning to the lineup.
