The Florida Panthers have invited forward Martin Havlat to training camp on a professional tryout contract, the team announced Friday.
Havlat, 34, spent last season with the New Jersey Devils, where he tallied just five goals and 14 points over 40 games.
The news of his signing in Florida comes after it was reported last month that Havlat's original team, the Ottawa Senators, were interested in bringing him back to Ottawa for a tryout.
A 14-year NHL veteran, Havlat has scored 241 goals and 593 points over 788 career games. He has spent time with the Senators, Devils, Chicago Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild, and San Jose Sharks.
