Report: Texas' Dalton Santos out for season with ankle injury
Texas will be without linebacker Dalton Santos for the rest of the season because of an ankle injury, his father told Horns Digest.
Santos' father revealed Dalton recently underwent surgery, and the injury was worse than originally feared.
"A lot more complicated than they originally thought," he said. "Thought was (surgeons) were going to go in and clean out and do a tight rope on a tendon but had to end up doing a microfracture surgery instead."
The senior has posted 103 tackles in three seasons with the Longhorns, and his absence leaves the team inexperienced at middle linebacker. True freshman Malik Jefferson, who played well against Notre Dame, will now have to carry the workload the rest of the way.
Santos is expected to return to Texas next season.
