Ben Hanowski signs with German club after 2-year stint with Flames

Brace Hemmelgarn / USA TODAY Sports

Ben Hanowski, acquired by the Calgary Flames as part of the Jarome Iginla trade back in 2013, has signed with Augsburger Panther of Germany's top league, according to the club's official website.

The 24-year-old - along with Kenny Agostino and a first-round pick at the 2013 NHL Draft (used to select winger Morgan Klimchuk) - was sent to Calgary by the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Iginla back on March 27, 2013.

Hanowski appeared in 16 games for the Flames, recording a goal and two assists. The majority of his time with the organization was spent with the AHL's Adirondack Flames, for whom he totalled 29 goals and 27 assists in 111 games.
