Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas will undergo surgery on his injured finger and could miss a month of action, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The surgery will take place Wednesday after a second opinion confirmed an earlier diagnosis.
After suffering a broken finger in the Jaguars' opening preseason game, the newly acquired free agent was expected to be ready for Week 1 of the regular season.
On Monday, general manager David Caldwell called Week 4 a "realistic" return date for his Pro Bowl tight end.
