The NFL and NFLPA were unable to reach a deal in settling the court appeal of Tom Brady's four-game suspension, and the decision in the case is now expected to come within the next few days.

U.S. District Court Judge Richard M. Berman announced after Monday's hearing that he will issue a ruling on the case no later than Friday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The two sides were encouraged to reach a deal before it was necessary for Judge Berman to make a decision, but there's little to no indication any sort of progress was made throughout the negotiation process.

Brady and his representation have been seeking complete exoneration of his four-game ban, and would not accept a negotiated deal that involved even one missed game.

The NFL was reportedly looking for an admission of guilt from Brady, unwilling to settle unless he accepted the findings of the Wells report.

It's unclear which direction Judge Berman is leaning in at this time, but it appears as though the "Deflategate" saga is finally coming to an end after more than seven months.
