Rams' Tre Mason suffers hamstring injury vs. Colts

Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports

St. Louis Rams running back Tre Mason suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday's preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, leaving Mason's status for Week 1 in question.

With rookie Todd Gurley not expected to play in Week 1 as he continues to rehab a torn ACL, the Rams' backfield is suddenly a big question mark.

Benny Cunningham and Isaiah Pead would likely split carries in the event both Mason and Gurley are inactive.
