The Los Angeles Dodgers reunited with outfielder Chris Heisey on Tuesday, acquiring the 30-year-old from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for cash considerations or a player to be named later.

Heisey signed a minor-league deal with Toronto on Aug. 13, six days after being released by the Dodgers. In 17 games with Triple-A Buffalo, Heisey hit just .155/.269/.259 with two home runs and 16 strikeouts in 67 plate appearances before getting traded.

Acquired by Los Angeles in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds this winter, Heisey managed a .545 OPS through 17 games with the Dodgers, making three brief stints with the club while spending the majority of the season with Triple-A Omaha.

Over parts of five seasons in the majors, the former 17th-round pick owns a .717 OPS (93 OPS+) with 50 home runs and a 22.9 percent strikeout rate in 560 games.

Heisey is eligible for the Dodgers' postseason roster as the trade was formally completed Monday night before the Aug. 31 deadline passed, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.
