Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey was forced to leave Sunday's preseason game against the Green Bay Packers after suffering an ankle injury late in the first quarter.
Pouncey went to the ground awkwardly when Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix fell into the back of his legs and was attended to by trainers before he slowly made his way to the sideline and was carted to the locker room.
The Steelers' offense was expected to see some relatively extensive playing time in Sunday's game, potentially remaining on the field for the entire first half, but Cody Wallace took over at center in Pouncey's place.
Pouncey has earned an impressive four Pro Bowl nods in five seasons since joining the club as a first-round pick in 2010.
