Alabama's Jake Coker misses practice due to 'minor foot injury'
Alabama senior quarterback Jake Coker wasn't at practice Monday, and he'll be absent for a little while longer due to a foot injury.
"Jake Coker has a minor foot injury that we think will keep him out of practice for several days," head coach Nick Saban said in a statement released after workouts. "Our physicians anticipate a full recovery."
It's unclear when Coker sustained the injury, given he participated in the team's scrimmage Saturday.
After losing the starting job to Blake Sims last season, Coker, a Florida State transfer, hasn't done much thus far to convince Saban that he's the surefire candidate for the job.
Alabama is currently in the heat of a five-man quarterback battle. Coker is vying for the job with junior Alec Morris, sophomore Cooper Bateman, redshirt freshman David Cornwell, and true freshman standout Blake Barnett.
