Report: Cardinals offer Chris Johnson 1-year contract
Free-agent running back Chris Johnson is reportedly being pursued by at least one team.
The Arizona Cardinals have offered Johnson a one-year contract, which he is still mulling, according to Dianna Marie Russini of ESPN.
I'm told Johnson's hesitation is making sure he goes into a situation that will allow him to make the team #Cardinals

Johnson became a free agent in February after the New York Jets declined to pick up his option. A month later, he suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder during a deadly drive-by shooting.
The 29-year-old has rushed for 8,628 yards and 51 touchdowns in 111 career games.
The Cardinals are relatively thin at the running back position and have been without starter Andre Ellington and third-round draft pick David Johnson for most of training camp while they recover from hamstring injuries.
Head coach Bruce Arians told reporters Monday that he would be speaking with general manager Steve Keim after practice to discuss signing another running back.
"We will search and see what is available," Arians said. "I am just not pleased at where we are at right now at that position."
