Di Maria will join Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to form one of the most imposing attacking cores, as the club looks to grab European honours.
Manchester United subsequently tweeted its well-wishes to the outgoing midfielder, who made 27 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring three goals with 10 assists in a season rife with challenges.
United signed the 27-year-old Argentine last summer for a British-record fee of £59.7 million amidst a transfer spending frenzy that saw the club sign Daley Blind, Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, and Marcos Rojo.
Despite an up-and-down season with Louis van Gaal's squad, Di Maria is a world-class talent capable of making those around him better, with a knack for timely, incisive passes.

Talent like that doesn't come cheap, as initial reports suggest PSG paid about £44.3 million for him - £15.4 million less than United paid a year ago.
PSG kicks off their Ligue 1 campaign Friday against Lille and Laurent Blanc's men will be without star striker Ibrahimovic up top. It's uncertain if Di Maria will make his debut for the club, who are the odds-on favourite to win a fourth consecutive domestic title.
