Rory McIlroy's ruptured ankle ligament appears as though it will cost him a second straight major championship start.
The world No. 1 is not listed for a practice round at Whistling Straits, the course set to host next weekend's PGA Championship, according to Brian Keogh of Irish Golf Desk.
Reuters reported Sunday that McIlroy did commit to a tune-up, but that's since been refuted by his management team, who say he's still going through the rehabilitation process.
McIlroy was unable to defend his Open Championship title at St. Andrews last month after suffering the injury playing soccer.
