Rousey hoping to fight on card with Aldo-McGregor at AT&T stadium in Dallas
Everyone - even certified world-destroyers - want to fight on the Jose Aldo-Conor McGregor undercard.
With UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum already campaigning to appear alongside Aldo-McGregor on a megacard expected for Dec. 5 at AT&T stadium in Dallas, Ronda Rousey - quite possibly the sport's biggest star - is hoping to join the fray.
"I would like to be on the Aldo-McGregor card if possible. That would be really cool," Rousey told FOX Sports 1 following her win over Bethe Correia at UFC 190.
Sensing the opportunity to stage a massive event, UFC president Dana White agreed with Rousey, suggesting the promotion could book the women's bantamweight champion in a trilogy bout with Miesha Tate.
"I'd like to put her on that card," White said. "That card is probably going to be in Dallas, Texas stadium. December (5), I hope so. We're working on it."
The UFC invested millions in promoting Aldo-McGregor at UFC 189 only to have Aldo pull out with a rib injury less than two weeks before the event. McGregor went on to capture the interim featherweight title, making a potential champion versus champion matchup all the more tantalizing.
