Blue Jays' Travis to undergo MRI after leaving game with shoulder irritation

John E. Sokolowski / USA TODAY Sports

Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis was removed from Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies after injuring his shoulder during his third-inning at-bat.

Travis, who spent time on the disabled list this season with a shoulder injury, was attended to by the club's medical staff before exiting the contest. He was diagnosed with left shoulder irritation and will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.

The Blue Jays also lost Jose Bautista to cramps in his leg and hamstring in the eighth inning. The All-Star outfielder expects to play Wednesday.

Travis led off the game with a solo shot in the Blue Jays' 3-2 loss.
