Despite a career season from current closer Brad Ziegler, the Arizona Diamondbacks are reportedly looking to improve their bullpen, as they are in talks with the Cincinnati Reds about Aroldis Chapman.

The Diamondbacks are reportedly doing their "due diligence," according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports. The ask price for Chapman is "huge," Passan notes, but "there may be something there."

The 27-year-old is in the midst of another dominant season, converting on 20 of 21 save opportunities this season. His 74 strikeouts trail only Dellin Betances of the New York Yankees among relievers and "The Cuban Missile" has a 1.73 ERA so far in 2015.

This report comes one day after it was reported that the Diamondbacks called the Philadelphia Phillies to inquire about Cole Hamels. Arizona currently sits seven and a half games out of an NL wild-card spot, so it will be interesting to see if the team decides to buy for what would be a daunting playoff push.
