Report: Tottenham's Emmanuel Adebayor visits Aston Villa ahead of transfer

Tottenham forward Emmanuel Adebayor was spotted walking around Aston Villa's training facility Tuesday, according to a report by Sky Sports.

Some reports said the Togolese international was undergoing a medical.

Adebayor didn't travel with Tottenham during the team's pre-season tour of the U.S. and appears to be on the outs, with a move to Aston Villa also offering him a chance to reunite with his former manager Tim Sherwood.

Aston Villa is, of course, seeking replacements up top since selling its starting forward, Christian Benteke, to Liverpool. The Villains have £32.5 million to play with since that sale, as the summer transfer window continues to roll on.

Adebayor played in 13 games for Tottenham last season and scored two goals. If he signs with Aston Villa, he will be the eighth new signing of the summer. The club also signed Spanish defender Jose Angel Crespo earlier on Tuesday.
