The Charlotte Hornets have agreed to terms with shooting guard Elliot Williams, according to a source of Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.

The deal includes an invite to training camp, bringing the current Hornets roster total to 16, with 15 spots available.

Williams was a first-round pick of the Portland Trail Blazers in 2010, but missed two of his first three seasons in the NBA due to knee and Achilles injuries. He later played for the Philadelphia 76ers.

He signed a 10-day contract with the Hornets last season but didn't play a game for them. He also had short stints with the Utah Jazz and New Orleans Pelicans, and led the Santa Cruz Warriors to the D-League championship in April, capturing the Finals MVP award. The athletic slasher improved his 3-point stroke in the D-League, hitting 35.7 percent of his shots from deep.
