Braden Holtby has been taken care of, so now the Washington Capitals can set their sights on Marcus Johansson.

However, the Capitals and the restricted free agent haven't made any progress towards a new contract.

"I think they're status quo from last time," general manager Brian MacLellan said Friday according to NHL.com. "As we get closer and, you know, as both parties go through their arbitration process, I think you get a better feeling for the value of the player.

"Hopefully we can come to an agreement before then, but again, we're willing to go through the whole process and keep negotiating."

Johansson, who had a breakout season for the Capitals is set for an arbitration hearing July 29.

The forward scored a career high 20 goals and 47 points, while playing in all 82 games last season. He recently completed a two-year, $4-million contract.
