Report: Cavaliers, James Jones agree to 1-year, veteran-minimum deal

The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to terms on a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum with sharpshooting forward James Jones, according to Northeast Ohio Media Group's Chris Haynes.
The contract is expected to be finalized by Friday at the earliest.
The 34-year-old returning to the Cavaliers for a second season was never in doubt. The 12-year pro recently told the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Joe Vardon that he'll "be back in Cleveland for sure."
Jones appeared in 57 games during the regular season, averaging 4.4 points on 36.8 percent shooting, while also hitting 36 percent of his 3-point attempts.
His friendship with LeBron James is well-documented, with the bond being strong enough for Jones to leave South Beach to continue playing alongside "The King" in Cleveland.
The Cavaliers still have plenty of work left to do this offseason, with the futures of Tristan Thompson, Matthew Dellavedova, and J.R. Smith still hanging in the balance.
The depth in the second unit will be less of an issue next season following the additions of Richard Jefferson and Mo Williams, which may push Jones further down the pecking order. When his name is in fact called, the University of Miami alumnus will stretch the floor and keep defenders looking toward the perimeter when he's in the game.
