The Dallas Mavericks have officially signed Senegalese forward Maurice Ndour, the team announced Thursday.

Ndour played two seasons with the Ohio Bobcats after transferring from Monroe College, averaging 16 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.3 rejections during his final year.

The 23-year-old wasn't selected in the 2015 NBA Draft, ultimately winding up with the New York Knicks' Summer League squad where he put up 9.6 points on 51.1 percent shooting, including 4.8 boards and two blocks.

The Knicks were very interested in the 6-foot-9 big, although Dallas offered more guaranteed money, swaying Ndour towards the Western Conference, according to ESPN's Ian Begley.

There's no guarantee Ndour will crack the final roster, but with his knack for protecting the rim and no true backup behind presumed starter Zaza Pachulia, he'll have a really good shot of snagging a spot.
