Spieth, McIlroy early favorites to win PGA Championship at Whistling Straits
Winners of four of the last five majors, it should come as no surprise that Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy have the best odds to win the upcoming PGA Championship at Whistling Straits next month.
Spieth is the odds-on favorite at 5-1 after coming up one stroke short of a playoff in the Open Championship at St. Andrews. The 21-year-old has taken the other two majors in 2015, winning the Masters by four strokes and the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay by one.
McIlroy did not play in Scotland due to an ankle injury suffered while playing soccer with friends. The Northern Irishman, who won back-to-back majors in 2014 (The Open and the PGA Championship at Valhalla), has 13-2 odds to win in August.
Martin Kaymer, the 2010 PGA winner at Whistling Straits, has his odds set at 33-1, as does the runner-up in the last two majors, Louis Oosthuizen. Newly crowned Open champion Zach Johnson is at 50-1, worse than Tiger Woods (40-1), who's missed two major cuts in a row for the first time in his career.
