Report: Tom Brady's camp expects appeal ruling this week

Tom Brady won't have to wait much longer to learn the results of his suspension appeal if a report from Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio proves to be accurate.

Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, Florio reports Brady's camp expects a ruling this week.

It's been more than two weeks since the NFL heard Brady's appeal, but the league hasn't exactly made a habit of resolving these matters in a speedy manner.

Brady is perhaps the biggest name ever suspended by the NFL, however, and the league will remain under the microscope until Goodell's verdict is announced.

Even after a ruling is announced, it appears unlikely Brady will move on from the mess that is "Deflategate." According to Florio, a former lawyer, litigation is inevitable.

If Brady takes the NFL to court and is granted an injunction, he could be permitted to play in Week 1, and as long as the matter is tied up in the courts.

There are some who believe that's Brady's end game: to play crucial games early in the season under an injuction and then drop his litigation and serve his suspension once the Patriots have secured a playoff berth.
