Denny Hamlin wins pole for Xfinity Series Lakes Region 200

Amber Searls / USA TODAY Sports

Denny Hamlin whipped around New Hampshire Motor Speedway with a fast lap of 131.026 mph to nab the Coors Light Pole Award for Saturday's Xfinity Series Lakes Region 200.

The pole is the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20 Toyota driver's second of the season and his 18th in the Xfinity Series.

Kyle Busch, Hamlin's teammate, continued his recent success, with the second fastest lap in his No. 54 Toyota at 130.443 mph. The third position was filled by Daniel Suarez, another Joe Gibbs team member, who drove his No. 18 Toyota for the third-fastest lap time of 130.238 mph.

It's looking like another good weekend for JGR, who dominated at Kentucky last weekend in the Sprint Cup Series, having all four members finish in the top five.

Brad Keselowski (130.198 mph) and Brian Scott (130.126 mph) rounded out the top five.

Current points leader Chris Buescher finished with a lap of 127.155 mph, good for 20th.

The green flag waves for the 200 lap race on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.
