West Brom releases Georgios Samaras

West Brom today announced they've terminated the contract of Greek striker Georgios Samaras by mutual consent.

Samaras, 30, joined the Midlands club last summer following a successful spell at Celtic, but was loaned out during January's transfer window to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal.

Should Samaras find a new club during this summer's transfer window, the towering Greek striker will be looking to regain the form that saw him score 73 goals in 249 appearances for Celtic after having transferred from Manchester City in 2008.
