Jordan Spieth may be out on the Old Course running down history, but Jordan Niebrugge has already made it.
The heavy hitter from Oklahoma State claimed the lowest opening round score by an amateur in the extensive history of The Open Championship, firing a 67 on Thursday morning.
He finished his round one shot off the clubhouse lead after carding seven birdies and two bogeys.
