Nets' Robinson sustains meniscus tear, will undergo arthroscopic surgery
Thomas Robinson just can't catch a break.
Fresh off signing a two-year pact with the Brooklyn Nets, Robinson sustained a meniscus tear in his right knee during a workout Tuesday, and will undergo arthroscopic surgery on Wednesday, the team announced.
There's no right time for an injury, but it comes as a great disappointment for Robinson, who had a shot at a fresh start in Brooklyn. After being drafted fifth overall in 2012, Robinson bounced around four cities before ending up with the Nets.

The 6-foot-9 forward profiles as an energy big that feasts off hustle plays. A serious knee injury would hamper his athleticism, which would severely undercut Robinson's effectiveness.
Meanwhile, the injury to Robinson likely gives Andrea Bargnani a permanent spot in the Nets' frontcourt rotation.
Last season, Robinson averaged 5.7 points and 5.6 rebounds in 14.8 minutes per game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trail Blazers.
