After a lengthy rain delay saw Sunday's Coke Zero 400 at Daytona extend well into the early hours of Monday morning, the race eventually reached its end with a terrifying crash at the finish line.

Just as the drivers were passing the checkered flag, contact was made and nearly every car in the pack was sent spinning in different directions.

Austin Dillon's No. 3 car took the worst of the wreck, flying into the barrier and landing on its roof before being struck again by the No. 2 car of Brad Keselowski.

Thankfully, Dillon was able to walk away from the crash unharmed.

One fan was sent to hospital, but has since been treated and released, according to ESPN. Daytona president Joie Chitwood said several others were assessed and treated by medics at the track.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. came away from the Coke Zero 400 with his second consecutive restrictor-plate race victory, holding off Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne for the win.
