Brewers win 8th straight behind Jungmann's 4-hit masterpiece

Despite wearing the collar in the NL Central, the Milwaukee Brewers continue to be baseball's hottest team.

Rookie hurler Taylor Jungmann was spectacular, giving up four hits and one run over eight innings against the Cincinnati Reds, extending the Brewers' winning streak to eight games with a 6-1 win Sunday.

This is the club's longest winning streak since stringing together nine consecutive victories in April 2014.

Jungmann improved to 3-1 on the season, lowering his ERA to 2.43 in six starts. He retired the first 12 batters he faced before Jay Bruce led off the fifth with a double.

Although Milwaukee belted out 13 hits, the offense was fairly dormant up until the seventh inning. That's when Adam Lind hit a two-run shot and Gerardo Parra roped a solo homer.

After driving in three runs, Lind extended his streak of games with an RBI to nine, tying the franchise record, while also owning the longest such current streak in the majors.

Across the diamond, Reds starter Mike Leake picked up his first loss since May 27, after going 3-0 in June. He gave up three runs on eight hits, striking out six.
