Report: Manchester United will only sell David De Gea for world-record goalkeeper fee

If Real Madrid really, truly wants David De Gea, they're going to have to reach deep into their seemingly infinite pockets.

ESPN FC reports that Manchester United will not let the 24-year-old Spaniard leave the club for anything less than a world-record transfer fee for a goalkeeper. This despite the obvious risk of losing the shot-stopper for free next summer.

De Gea, currently in Madrid - though he claims he's strictly there on holiday - will see his contract with the Red Devils expire at the end of 2015-16 assuming he doesn't sign an extension, which he's been reluctant to do as of yet, despite United's best efforts.

The report claims United will take the aforementioned risk unless the Spanish clubs presents something in excess of the £32.6 million Juventus paid Parma for Gianluigi Buffon in 2001 - a fee that remains the largest ever paid for a goalkeeper.
