Lincecum suffered a forearm contusion when he was struck by a line drive in Saturday's game, and as expected, the ailment will land the right-hander on the disabled list. Even though the tightness isn't considered overly serious, the Giants needed the roster spot to activate Matt Cain (forearm) for Thursday's start, as manager Bruce Bochy called this move a "no-brainer."
