The Washington Capitals have added a veteran with plenty of playoff experience to their roster, signing Justin Williams to a two-year contract.
The deal carries an average annual value of $3.25 million.
Williams won the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2014 with 25 points in 26 games en route to the third Stanley Cup championship of his career. The 33-year-old has always been more of a playoff performer, but he still recorded 41 points with the Los Angeles Kings last season and he continues to drive possession - albeit not as effectively as he once did.
